Hi Reader,
The holidays are almost here, and I want you to walk into them feeling prepared, not restricted.
Here’s my approach with clients: I don’t ask anyone to skip the stuffing or pass on the pie. Instead, we make a few small swaps that make the plate more satisfying, so you feel good during the meal and after it.
Try these 5 swaps:
- Start with protein. Turkey, ham, beans, or a deviled egg first. Protein helps you feel full and steady.
- Give your veggies some flavor. Roast Brussels sprouts or green beans with olive oil, garlic, and a sprinkle of parmesan. Veggies you actually want to eat are the ones you’ll eat.
- Use Greek yogurt for part of the sour cream or mayo. It works well in dips, mashed potatoes, and creamy casseroles, and adds protein.
- Bulk up the stuffing. Add mushrooms, celery, onions, and nuts so every bite has more fiber and texture.
- Keep the pie, adjust the pairing. Enjoy your slice with a spoonful of plain Greek yogurt or a handful of nuts instead of skipping dessert.
Notice what these have in common: nothing is off the table. We’re just adding what helps you feel satisfied.
Your one thing this week: At your next big meal, build your plate in this order: protein, then veggies, then your favorites. Notice how you feel an hour later.
Want a holiday plan that fits your real life? I’d love to help. Book a consultation here and we’ll build one together.
P.S. What’s the one holiday dish you must have? Reply and tell me. (Mine is sweet potatoes with brown sugar and cinnamon).
